🎨 The Art Process: From Sketch to Shirt
Each design in the Fly Toons Collection started the old-school way — with a pencil and paper. The ideas came quickly and naturally, flowing straight from mind to sketchbook. Once the hand-drawn art was down, each piece was scanned, digitized, and cleaned up while preserving all the character and texture of the original lines.
The transition from page to print was all about keeping that same energy. We didn’t overwork or polish things to death. What you see on the shirts still has that hand-made soul — it just happens to be wearable now.

👤 Meet the Artist: Ellis Ricketts
I’m Ellis Ricketts, the creator behind Broken Wings. I studied animation in college and went on to work as a graphic designer and illustrator for film and television — including projects like Star Trek: Discovery, Umbrella Academy, JANE on AppleTV+, Reacher, and more.
Fly Toons is my personal way of channeling everything I love about classic animation into something you can wear. These characters aren’t just designs — they’re pieces of a bigger story I’ve been building, one sketch at a time.
